The site of Liberman House is a communal and educational experiment dealing with the relationship between schooling and museums and between generations (grandparents, children etc) building together the site which weaves the story of the community. Every family is invited to contribute their personal stories. This is the story of the history of Nahariyah. You are invited to add your own family story to this venture. On a hilltop 10 meters above sea level stands the water tower that overlooks Nahariya and has become the symbol of the city. Construction of the tower was begun in May 1935 and was completed at the end of February 1936. An historical introduction to the Andreas Meyer photographic collection. The following presentation is written without footnotes. Over 70 interviews and discussions with first and second generation Nahariyans were used as sources for this paper, combined with references to first-hand sources as well as secondary literature concerning Nahariya and its establishment. These sources can be easily found in my previous publications about Nahariya. Klaus Kreppel |
