Seven-cup Offering Vessel (1750-1550 BC) Nahariyyah.

Height 0.065 m. diam. 0.10 m. pottery

One of the many pottery vessels, a bowl containing seven small cups, found on and near the high-place of Nahariyyah. The cups may have held some liquid offerings-food, or precious oils and perfumes. Seven-wick pottery lamps found with them suggest that the number had a symbolical significance at this time, in this part of the world.

Haifa, December 26th, (Reuter) – The Jewish Defense Organization "Hagana" has struck again, writes Jon Kimche, Reuter's special correspondent.

"Operation Bethlehem" to bring in a large sailing vessel with 250 immigrants without certificates was concluded in the early hours this morning with the dispersal of the landed immigrants from the Nahariya Beachhead, 20 miles North of Haifa.

Was killed in a terrorist attack on the 26th of May 1948 in Israel's war of independence.
He was killed and buried in Nahariya.

Menahem Ussishkin

Born in 1863, in Russia.
Immigrated to Israel in 1919.
Died in 1941.
Activity range: leader.
Activity era: 1882-1940.

When he was 18 years old, Ussishkin first encountered the pogroms against Jews in Russia, and then became a Zionist.

Membership in Bilu ("Beit Ya'akov Lekhu Ve-nelkha" ("House of Jacob, let us go [up]"), and then in B'nai Moshe ("Children of Moses"), led him to Herzel and to an active membership in Zionist Congresses.

On 1982, the Israely Education Ministry and Nahariya's city council decided on building another school in the south part of Nahariya.
On September 1st 1983 the school's gates opened, with 8 classrooms from 1st grade to the 4th grade.
The school is named after Golda Meir who was the Prime minister of Israel from 1969 to 1974.
Unfortunately, when the school opened she was not alive.
Her daughter agreed to perpetuate her mother's name, and name the school "Golda Meir".
