Lieberman House

The site of Lieberman House is a communal and educational experiment dealing with the relationship between schooling and museums and between generations (grandparents, children etc) building together the site which weaves the story of the community. Every family is invited to contribute their personal stories. This is the story of the history of Nahariyah. You are invited to add your own family story to this venture.

The Lieberman House stands on G'dud 21 Street in the southern part of the city. Today, it houses the museum of the history of Nahayiyah. In the interior there is a display of artifacts which tells the story of the building of the city to the present day. The archive actively serves the community providing photographs, posters, and authentic correspondence revealing the city's past before the establishment of the State. There is also a short video presentation about the unique story of immigrants from Germany describing the daily fight of doctors and professors who overnight became farmers.

Thanks to Andreas Meyer for his collection Pictures through Time of Nahariyah which gave us inspiration and a data base for the site.
